On one of the many trails taken on the way to Mt Cook we crossed this stream. Although beautiful clear and clean the winding stream disappearing into the mist and darkness seemed to have an element of foreboding and danger.

On the way to Mt Cook we came to a trail that led to this isolated lake stretching out and around the cliffs on either side. Upon arrival we were greeted by picturesque sun and blue skies within minute’s and with no warning clouds from the far end of the valley came rolling across the lake enveloping us like a thick fog form a horror movie. Time to leave!

On the way to Mt Cook the planes meet the mountains rising like an impenetrable wall from the fields stretching out in front of them. It creates a definite level of excitement and anticipation at what lies ahead!
