Well I do feel very special now. I got a call yesterday from
June (one of the senior ladies out here on the mountain) to invite me to Ibu
Fani’s leaving lunch today. Now I know Ibu Fani a little bit as the only time I
have spent any time with her is at water volleyball and around town at any of
the TLC functions but other than that don’t really know here. But regardless I
accepted and have even found a batik shirt to borrow as per the dress code for
the function.
I waited 45mins for a bus, but 2 buses pasted me full so no
seats, but just to tip me over the edge, a lady I know up here reversed up to
me standing in the pouring rain to ask me if I would like a lift. I replied yes
please that would be nice. For her to reply on wait sorry no you can’t, I don’t
think we are allowed to have 3 adults in the front of pick up. So what am I
meant to say to that – no get out, I want a lift??? So with that I walk up to the
start of hidden valley to wait for the next bus on the hope I can get a seat
before the end of hidden valley and get down the hill. I hate being late for
anything.
Well the good news I was not the only person late, but I
hate being late. Never mind, the lunch was lovely and the service was very nice
given by the TLC and Ibu Fani. And just to enjoy the day I also found out that
only 10 of the expat ladies were invited to this very special event, and I was
one of them. Ha how ace am I. I am only
ever found in the pool or the gym, don’t really spend much time down town and
here I am eating at the Indonesian SVP of Operations wife’s leaving lunch. I must be doing something right out here.
