Glen Eagles Hospital

Landing in Singapore I do not feel good at all. Gobey asks if I want a wheelchair to get to where the driver and admin staff from SOS (his work) will be waiting for us. I say no as its bad enough being looked at as you look like death without them thinking I am unable to walk from the plane to the taxi.

We get to the driver and we are off to the hospital. The lady in the front is speaking to Gobey to get information and calling the hospital to have my room ready (at this point getting someone to call and get a room ready seems very serious). We arrive at the hospital and the porter takes us up to the ward (Gobey had to tell me about all this as I was not with it by this point). The nurses take my height and weight. While they were doing this there is a sign in front of me on the scales, saying that chubbiness is no child’s play. Little worried where I am as I am a little porky!!!!

Into my room it’s more like a hotel room. My own room, 32’ flat screen on the wall and shower and toilet, long sofa and 2 visitor chairs. I head straight for the bed and wait for the doctor to come in and see me.

So first up the doctor wants me to head for a MRI scan. So gown on and before i know it in a wheelchair and off down to the MRI. While I am down here Gobey goes to check into his hotel and make sure there is a room for mum and dad.

The MRI took ages as by the time I got back to my room mum and dad where there. Now we just had to wait to see what the results of the MRI where.

Was nice to see mum and dad, just not where I was. And with the unknown everyone was worried. But the doctor came to see us about 4pm and went through the MRI – which was all clear. But he what’s to discuss having a lumbar puncture in the morning to rule out any infection in my spine. Mum agrees with Gobey this would be the best way forward from here as we still are unsure what’s wrong.

So another night in a hospital bed and lumbar booked for the morning.
