I left the UK in early January 2013, taking 2 days to drive south to Millau. The site of the famous Millau Viaduct designed by Sir Norman Foster! It is a staggering example of modern architecture that fits into the landscape without overpowering the surrounding landscape. Tower 2 is over 1000Ft above the river Tarn below. Believe it or not the whole bridge was built in just 3 years with the towers growing at a staggering 4 metres every 3 days! I was lucky to see this magnificent edifice as when I arrived it was shrouded in mist and fog which fortunately went overnight. It may have been clear but it is really cold so tomorrow I shall point the van southward again and head into Spain!
