VW camper van

UNITED KINGDOM | Friday, 30 March 2012 | Views [491]

My home for my European adventure is a Volkswagen Transporter,T28, circa 2006 with 104bhp 5 speed gearbox. I had her converted by Elite Camper Conversions of Worksop, UK to my own specifications which includes Fridge, cooker, sink, grill electrics, central heating, running cold water, double bed and external awning. I also have a TV, extra cool box and external shower. Havings used the van throughout 2011 in the UK I am confident that I shall be very comfortable during this extended tour up to Nord Kapp, Norway.

The reason for a VW van was amonst other things, reliability, the availibility of part throughout Europe and the size, it fits into a car parking space and goes into multistory carparks, so I can use it as my everyday vehicle and thus save a bit by not having to run 2 vehicles.

The adventure starts 11th April 2012 and I expect to be home by early August.
