Well, it's been another busy few days.
We've slept next to more lakes, walked through more rainforests to more waterfalls and hidden beaches, got the bus stuck on a beach and over the last few days we've been in a campsite to enjoy the blessing that is running water. It's amazing how pleasant the conveniences that we take for granted can be after being denied them for a few days.
first we headed south through the beautiful Catlins coast to another city with lots of Scottish heritage called Invercargill. from there we headed to the southern most point of New Zealand; Bluff, and rode the ferry across to Stewart island.
Stewart island is a beautiful place and in 2002 85 percent of it was designated as a national park. The ferry trip across took an hour and the sea sickness took about two hours to recover from. After that, we took a long hike around the island.
From there we headed south up the west coast through a huge national park called fiordland and took a boat trip to see how the area was formed by glaciers squillions of years ago.
There we saw yet more waterfalls, sealions and some dolphins even popped up to say hello, which was an unexpected surprise and quite a treat!
We then went to a place called Queenstown, which is one of those touristy expensive places where people sit outside and drink coffee in between bunjy jumps and jet boat rides.
Now we're in Wanaka which is abit more real with a supermarket and normal stuff. It's been nice to relax here for a day and take a shower, but as soon as this update is complete we'll be on the road again because time is rushing by at an alarming rate, and there's lots more to see and do.
