The world through my eyes If it weren't for the last minute, nothing would get done!

Well, we bailed out of LA pretty sharpish.  After a decidedly anticlimaxical trip to Hollywood and Bel Air, we decided enough was enough and headed back out onto the ocean road.

The original plan was to get to San Diego, but on the way there we stumbled across Huntington beach.

Huntington beach has everything we could want to keep us happy for our last few days in America.  There's an eight mile long beach front which we can walk along, a nice central park, a massive bikeshop and a wetlands area where we can walk and watch the wildlife.

We've checked in at the second from cheapest motel (don't want a repeat of the last experience!) and intend to stay here 'til Monday morning when we'll continue on to New Zealand.

Today's been great!  We've really made the most of being able to get out and about. I ran for an hour this morning, then we hired a funny side by side two seater bike and rode it along the beachfront, then I went surfing while Lisa read her book and enjoyed the sun.

We had a wonderfully entertaining evening last night, sat across from a typical dysfunctional American family at the international house of pancakes (IHOP).  It's a real all American eatery, where it's easily possible to eat a normal persons full meal for just a couple of dollars. I've included a picture of my dessert which was yummy!

Going now!  Next message'll probably be from New Zealand.  Woo Hoo!!

Hope you're all well!
