Prince of Wales Museum

INDIA | Friday, 6 April 2007 | Views [607]

Visited the museum today. It has a long Indian name that I don't have with me now. It used to be the Prince of Wales Museum of Western India. There were plenty of statues of various "gods" - I can sight-read Vishnu, Shiva, Ganesh etc in Devanagari now! It was also a good lesson in reading Hindi numbers (years on labels etc). There are plenty of items from about 500BC to the present, all different styles of sculpture and painting from South Asia.
