One of the gun emplacements still standing in Devonport near the HMNZS Philomel, the home of the New Zealand Navy. Once more this gun looks out across the Waitemata harbour towards auckland city, and was built during the War. Shot at F5, shutter speed of 1/320sec, I.S.O 100 and a focal length of 18mm.

Looking out to sea across the Hauraki Gulf from Northhead we see the sun rising behind Rangitoto Island, another New Zealand icon. During World War 2, a Japanese submarine was seen travelling past Rangitoto and heading into the harbour, luckily to no effect however. Shot at F9, shutter speed 1/80sec. I.S.O 100 with a Focal length of 21mm

As one travels the one road into Devonport they pass two long lines of trees on both sides of the road. Each tree was planted for an individual member of Devonport who gave their life during the war. In front of each tree is a small white block with a copper plaque that has World War 2 inscribed along the top and the members name at the bottom. Shot at F5, shutter speed of 1/10sec, I.S.O 400mm with a focal length of 28mm.
