I am a second year student studying photography studying in New Zealand at the Unitec in Mt Albert. Halfway through my course, while I haven't settled on a certain area of photography in which I want to work in when I leave, I am interested in sports, landscape, wildlife photography and although never attempted as of yet, marine photography.
At the end of our final year of studying, a friend and I had the idea to travel across the world with both of us focusing in on our niches, his being street photography and the cities while mine was landscapes and wildlife. However, being low income students reality struck and we realised that it wasnt possible as we would have to raise a minimum of $10 000 each, plus finding new equipment than what we have (mine being an old Canon EOS 1000d, though hopefully moving up to a 60d very soon). So while we've had to put that idea on hold, the idea of travelling to explore new cultures, new sceneries and new wildlife, and then bringing them back home with me in the form of photos to show others their beauty has always been with me.
It would be a dream job for me if I eventually became a photographer for National Geographic or just worked with one.
