    As one travels the one road into Devonport they pass two long lines of trees on both sides of the road. Each tree was planted for an individual member of Devonport who gave their life during the war. In front of each tree is a small white block with a copper plaque that has World War 2 inscribed along the top and the members name at the bottom. Shot at F5, shutter speed of 1/10sec, I.S.O 400mm with a focal length of 28mm. by: northhead Views[309] One of the gun emplacements still standing in Devonport near the HMNZS Philomel, the home of the New Zealand Navy. Once more this gun looks out across the Waitemata harbour towards auckland city, and was built during the War. Shot at F5, shutter speed of 1/320sec, I.S.O 100 and a focal length of 18mm. by: northhead Views[320] Looking out to sea across the Hauraki Gulf from Northhead we see the sun rising behind Rangitoto Island, another New Zealand icon. During World War 2, a Japanese submarine was seen travelling past Rangitoto and heading into the harbour, luckily to no effect however. Shot at F9, shutter speed 1/80sec. I.S.O 100 with a Focal length of 21mm by: northhead Views[424] One of the corridors that run underground at Northead. These tunnels were built during the war to look out to sea and also facing the city. While many that often led to gun emplacements are now blocked off, a few are still open to the public to explore. Shot at F4.5, Shutter speed of 1/30sec, I.S.O 800 with a Focal Length of 34mm. by: northhead Views[361] Auckland City in the early morning looking inland across the Waitemata harbour from Northead, Devonport. One of New Zealands great icons, the Skytower clearly stands out against the early morning sky. Shot at F5.6, Shutter speed of 1sec, I.S.O 800 and Focal Length at 95mm by: northhead Views[293]
