    Another unexpected twist was witnessing a gathering at a local temple for the Sunday prayers. What was unexpected was to see traditional musicians and dancers at a temple rarely seen by tourists. As we watched from a overhead walkway, we felt like eavesdroppers in a spiritual communication. Of course that didn’t stop me from clicking this photo before scurrying away. by: nivi Views[168] The lotus, so much a part of their culture is seen throughout; in their art, architecture and in pots strewn across the city. What truly amazed me was how they incorporate their natural surroundings into their daily lives. Beautiful orchids, lotuses and exotic potted plants are seen just about everywhere. by: nivi Views[173] Wat Pho - a reminder of the great history of the beautiful country. The grand temple domes reaching for the sky, serve as a reminder of all the centuries of greatness this country has seen to become what it is today! by: nivi Views[196] The cultural aspect of the city has also been incorporated into their daily schedule. For a country that thrives on tourism you expect to see the infamous lady boys performing a lively show. What amazed me was the amount of traditional folklore that is incorporated into the show. The show embodied the strong cultural ties they maintain in the modern day Thailand. by: nivi Views[185] The sight of the taxis lined up at the Bangkok airport. The colours caught my eye and set the tone for our Journey. Every facet of the country is as colourful as their taxis – rich, vibrant and unexpected. by: nivi Views[165]
