My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
India | Tuesday, January 8, 2013 | 5 photos
As a recently graduated textile and graphic designer I have always breathed passion for any form of creative expression.
It was not until 2012 when I received a scholarship to travel to India for a ‘Cultural Textiles’ elective with my university I discovered the fine art of travel photography and capturing memories. This was my first overseas trip, it was the most influential experience of my life. I am hooked, where to next? I was then accepted into another overseas elective to the longhouses of the textile and ceramic artisans of the Borneo jungle to specialise in textile design, however, taking photographs and seizing moments became the focus of my creative journey.
I have been educated in the use of CAD programs but most people can acquire these skills. The art of photography requires the passion and patience of a true creative and does not necessitate ample digital manipulation. This is what I am passionate about.
This amazing opportunity has come at a wonderful time in my life where I have spent the last 5 years as a sponge accumulating knowledge informing my creative passion. I now see the world in a different light, it is my oyster and I plan to travel it and capture it.
