Off to the airport we went this morning, we said our good byes to phil and were sent on our way in the taxi. We were there by 7.15am and had a generally painless check in. We couldn't believe the prices of the food....I know airport prices go up anywhere but just an example of a price, a bag of skittles.....£7???
We grit our teeth and spent about a fiver on 2 drinks a croissant and a muffin, which is pretty standard back home I guess but we're not used to it so it felt like a lot!The flight was nice, only short but long enough for me to catch the majority of a film and for Liam to also watch one. The food was nice enough, it's a fairly cheap airline but the seats were absolute luxury compared to the modes we've been using the last few weeks so we were both very happy.
I'm full of cold right now though so when it came to landing it wasn't so pleasant and the last half hour was extremely painful. We had a short wait which was kind of sad because we both like the airport in Delhi. It took about an hour after we landed for my hearing to come back in my ear, then it was time to board for the next flight...I was scared and I think Liam was too! He even gave the flight attendants a heads up and asked for advice on relieving any pain.
I watched various tv programmes whilst Liam watched a couple of films. Lunch was very nice again and it was a pleasant flight lasting around 4 hours I think. I knew as soon as we started to go lower even before it was announced because the pain began. It was really horrible but the flight attendant was attentive and helped me through it quite a bit. Getting through immigration and baggage etc was really efficient and before we knew it we were on the train heading off to our hotel. We made one mistake but after getting angry at each other about it we managed to correct ourselves fairly easily and only haveto pay n extra pound to get back on track with the tickets.
The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the station, we walked past a few street stalls and shops which we can try out another day. The hotel is nice, set aside from the road so it's quiet. It's homely, with 2 floors. The room is a decent size with ac, ensuite bathroom and a tv o we're more than happy. Tea and coffee is free, so is the wifi and they also offer tours so we might go on one, we'll decide another day.Liam's been playing on his games on his iPad with a cup of tea and I've been talking to shell and liz with a cup of lemsip, off to bed now. We'll be looking at the map and sorting out a plan of action over breakfast tomorrow.
