Woke up feeling rotten at the set time of 9am, very late for us but still feeling like more sleep was needed. We didn't want to leave things too late though as we only have a couple of days here. We had ordered an 'English breakfast' through our hotel, mainly because it's the only breakfast they do but also it was quite appealing to see what it would be like. After showering we went down and were greeted by some manky looking food! Maybe the worst looking that weve come across so far and thats saying something. We found it funny though and got stuck in. Luckily I only had the half so I didn't have as much to try and get through as Liam!
We looked over the maps and decided we wernt going to do too much today due to me feeling under the weather. So after getting our bag sorted and spending s bit of time trying to find a place to stay in Vietnam, we headed out. We walked the 5-10 min walk to the train station and took the sky train to Siam paragon shopping centre. It's lovely there, it's a massive complex that's really clean and modern, with areas with nice plants and water. There's loads of places to just sit and relax over all sorts of exotic looking food and drink and western stuff alike. We walked around browsing for a good couple of hours, just taking our time and admiring the designer prices in the windows. We also went up to the cinema to see if there was anything worse watching which there wasn't really so we left it.There's a food court down at the bottom that just keeps on going, with places to sit and eat from Thai to Mexican, Japanese to American. There's also mini stalls that sell random bits of food so we got a big sausage that looked similar to a Cumberland sausage but way spicier and strange Asian herbs in it, some cabbage to cool the mouth afterwards and sat down for a bit. We were right by a cake stall that had amazing looking stuff on it and we spotted tasters so we got two cocktail sticks each for pudding.
We then saw a supermarket type area, we had been told about a certain type of fruit that tastes of sour haribo so we initially went to find that but we couldn't, so we just looked at all the weird and wonderful food, grabbed a few more tasters on the way round and bought some blueberry fanta. On our way out we came across a krispy Kreme donut stall and I couldn't resist so we bought s donut to share whilst we walked to the next place. It was very hot outside, more humid really. We sat on some steps for a while and watched the crowd go by, then went to MBK shopping centre which was very underwhelming after being in the paragon. It was kind of like the potteries! Liam looked around for camera stuff, we found out to fix the scratch on the lense it costs about £200 and about 2 weeks to do so it's impossible. I can live with it but I think he will end up buying a new camera despite my disapproval! But I'd rather he buy a new one than be upset every time we take a photo so if needs must.
Beginning to feel a little more under the weather, with snot tissues piling up and my nose smothered in sudocream from it being so sore, we decided to move on to the next place. We decided to have a look at the arts centre across the road, which was supposedly this big building that took 10 years to complete....well if that's true the builders must have been dawdling because although a nice building I cant see how it could have taken that long! The place was full of timelines to do with weird art stuff all round the outside on each floor. We went up a few floors and went into the room saying 'experimental art'....wow.It was like some weird basement with bare stone walls and floor. Dotted around we're som really bizarre 'art sculptures' including a crappy water fountain and a box with a photograph in it on the floor. There were 3 little peep holes on one wall the you look into and see pictures...one of them was a video of you from behind. There was a tv with a movie of somebody's eye ball with a box with a pair of glasses and a camera attached to it. The art was called 'eye of a cyclist', and was apparently a REMAKE of 'eye'.
There were a couple of areas behind curtains showing art movies, a couple of tvs with headphones for you to watch some more 'art'...we sat just for the sake of sitting because we were tired. On our way out there was a massive canvas with lots of browny splodges on it. We looked at the title...'ejaculation on a canvas' OH GOD. Time to go!
It was around this moment that Liam's bowels began to open. Rushing to the toilet he spent the next 10 minutes in there, leaving me to sit awkwardly whilst all the weird Thai art lovers wandered around. He came out looking awkward, no wonder when he'd shoved a load of loo roll down his boxers for safe measure. We spent a few minutes trying to decide what plan of action was best considering he was leaking from his back end, but we eventually made up our minds to just keep moving and hope for the best. We went back to the paragon and got lots of little weird and wonderful items of food from the stall and sat munching on it all before sitting outside surrounded by trees covered in fairy lights. We then finally started heading back to the hotel. I love the transport here, the trains are so easy and everything so clean despite there being so many people, it's just a really nice atmosphere. We were home around 8ish and I was over the moon because we managed to find a good stream for the vampire diaries so I could lie and watch the new episode with a hot lemsip! Liam had no more poopy incidents either so everything was fine.
