There are public pianos scattered across New York City most of which were being abused by children or just being used as a photo scene for tourists. I stumbled across a homeless man who was playing a beautiful piece of classical music as brilliantly as a concert pianist.

I hardly ever have people as the main subject in my photographs, but there was a certain sense of mystery around strangers who were by themselves. I was at a rather crowded Central Park when I saw this girl sitting in a fenced off grass area, secluded from the busy city in a setting that seemed so serene.

Along the Highline, which is an urban garden built on the former elevated railroad, there are numerous seating areas where people come to enjoy a quiet lunch, or just relax in the summer sun. There was something about the way this lady blended in so perfectly where she was sitting.
