The Dongria are great admirers of aesthetic romanticism. Women and girls use heavy ornamentation, including wearing silver earrings along the entire rim of the ear.

Dongria women are not only strikingly beautiful but strong as well. They contribute inside and outside the household and are on equal footing with their male counterparts; a reason why the bride price is paid to a girl's parents when she gets married which is a unique feature of their tradition.

For these people, the jungle is their life. The Dongria are animists and they worship and protect nature. Every hill is home to its own god.
