A monk engraves a pattern on a metal plate. This artwork is practiced together with other monks, but also with common believers. These are additional skills monks learn apart from their standard education.

Daily prayers are a big part in the life of a monk. Although their standard education makes them go abroad, their religious progress is what they are most concerned with.

A long shutter speed only leaves a hint of a monk who worshiped late at night before going to sleep in his monastery. Many Laotian novice monks do not stay forever in Northern Thailand, when they have finished their studies.
