Barcelona

Ok so i am bad at this blog thing... As of right now i am in Barcelona. After saying bye to the parental units after a great two and a half weeks i headed for the mountains straigh away. Stayed three nights in a little town called Torla just outside the Ordesa National Park. Beautiful spot! hike for three days, went on an epic 25km plus hike of huge elevation gains and loses and amazing views. Had time to sit by a beautiful river, the rio Ara, which i have not done in a long time. It was wonderful, but made me realize that i did not get up to moty all year and that is horrible. but the Rio Ara consoled me and i read the River Why while enjoying the sun and the sound of the water.

After Torla spent two nights in Zaragoza just hanging out and then headed to Baracelona where i have been lucky enough to crash at a friend from Westerns place. ok so for now that is the update more soon as i can. love you all hope everyone is going well. Grandma Dot if you are reading this, happy late birthday.

oh monica keep them coming..back here we are getting ready for the snow..had lunch with niece ruthie and trev at the party palace aka as trev's house..not too many implements for fun missing at that place...great you're seeing someof the natural beauty as well.. so we only have about 3000 pics of you from age 5 to 20 on the sauk at monty...

Thanks for the update! Sounds like you are having a blast. What were your impressions of Barcelona? It is such a pretty word. We want pics! Just a tasty few. I looked up Torla on the website and it is so reminescent of the Banff/Jasper area, also Yosemite. I would have loved to have been on that hike! Also delighted you had the "River Why" with you. I am so pleased the Chacos worked for distance hiking, I really was imaging you crossing glaciers in sandals, but it sounds like the weather was good. how were the hostels?
News from the states.... Obabma is ahead by about 8 points. Palin is turning a majority of voters off. This has been helped along by great parodies of her by Tina Fey. The bail out package passed last week, however it hasn't spurred any optimism in the markets.
Paul Newman died of cancer :(

Autumn is settling on Seattle and it beautiful. My two favorite fall trees at Greenlake are turning color, they are glorious, so graceful and lovely. i don't know what they are. The Parotia is turning red, just on the tips and the vine maples are red, orange and yellow. Lots of Flickers in the garden, and the geese are flying south. And you don't have to go back to school!

The show is beautiful, lots of glass and weaving. I hope you get this message, the last one I sent didn't go out. I love you much. Mom
