The Spiti Valley - A Lesson in Patience

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

India | Monday, December 10, 2012 | 5 photos

I used to be unaware of my purpose in life and this used to scare me a lot. I chose to tread on the beaten path and pursue an MSc in Finance in London. But had I not done that, I wouldn’t have been exposed to a whole new world of travel and exploration. I clicked my first pictures as an independent traveler in the magnificent Cinque Terre in Northern Italy. The kind of interest these photographs generated amongst people who saw them gave me an immense sense of fulfillment. It felt like I have a definite purpose for the first time in my life.

I am fully aware of the importance of learning and broadening ones horizon when it comes to knowledge and I think photography cannot be taught in classrooms. I’m at a place where I need to make up for lost time with my passion and I’m keenly seeking a mentor.

My greatest strengths is adaptability and the tendency to blend in with people. I believe I’m poised to make the best use of my inherent talent and pursue my purpose but need a guiding hand to lead me to the starting line. I want to exhibit the beauty of our planet - the living, the non-living, the ancient and the new – so people can better appreciate the privilege of being alive.
