The Spiti Valley - A Lesson in Patience

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

The cow is a holy animal in India. In the Spiti valley where vegetation is scarce and pastureland almost non-existent, the cows have to be extremely resilient, especially in the cold winter months. The Spitians consider the cow and extremely important animal. In this picture a cow takes a break from feasting on autumn leaves and poses for a photograph specially for me.
