Bay Of Islands - "The Cream Trip".
I have recently taken steps to re-direct my career into photography.
My aim from this scholarship is to gain hands on practical knowledge and experience in technique, working in the field, providing output to a brief, and assisting / working in a team, in a challenging environment.
During my career I have always put my hands up for new challenges, including overseas hands on trips. I am very able to adapt quickly to new challenges. Hence I believe I have the aptitude to take on this learning experience.
I attended a presentation by Jason in Auckland in 2012 so am aware of his appetite for work, particularly on assignment, and fully expect this trip to be “full-on”. All my previous trips have been this way, which is how I prefer to work.
My interest in photography lies in the events, sports, animals, places and people, so fits well with the Oman Brief.
By gaining knowledge in these areas, particularly places and people, from Jason, I hope I can learn to contribute to the community in an informative pictorial way, providing media accounts of thought provoking events, places, and situations that would inform and stir.
