My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

At age 5 our garden is our adventure, at age 10 the neighborhood is discovered, then we reach 20, where for most of us the exploration ends, our passion for adventure diminishes. This is what happened to me, somewhere along the line I lost this part of me. This all changed when I received my first camera as a birthday present from my brother. Little to my knowledge did I know that this camera would reignite my passion for adventure.
My camera became my best friend, my companion. I started seeing the world in a different way. I realized everyone has a story to tell, I found adventure in everything I did. Photography offered me a way to share these stories with others and allowed me to express myself as a person. Adventure is a learning process, and the day we stop learning is the day we stop living. The world is vast and knowledge is infinite, and I want to learn as much as I can in this short time we have on this beautiful planet.
An opportunity like this is a once in a lifetime event, it will play a significant role in deciding the rest of my life, and that would be a dream come true. This would be a chance to do what I love and in doing so, a chance to share my gift with others.
