My children are Sheree, Rachael, Stacey, Kieran and my grandaughter Naomi, l would say they have had to put up with a lot from my unconventional interests even though they probably secretly love some of the places we've been to over the years, and the beautiful people we've met. My grandaughter has very vivid memories of the nettles at the side of the Tor in Glastonbury. I dont think she was impressed when she realised we risked life and limb to see an egg-stone. The sacred sites around Britain including Stonehenge and Avebury have not meant that much to my younger children. Although one day l know they will, our land is rich in history and culture and embodies the bones of our ancestors. You cannot possibly visit these places and not be touched! My second eldest daughter Rachael is at University studying Ancient history/civilizations which is one of the reasons l,m off to Peru. One of my dreams when l was younger was to study Anthropology, other things became more important at that time. The wonderful thing is that now l am living my dream!!!l am so honoured to be visiting and staying with the Ashaninka tribe in the rainforest, they are according to my friend Mike a gentle and caring community of people. As far as l am aware they want to retain their culture and way of life in the jungle, they also are aware l believe that they need support in introducing new skills. ie.Some forms of technology, carpentry etc... My kids have been tremendously supportive in my forthcoming travel adventure and for that l am very grateful, they,ve expressed concerns naturally, although they know and believe in me well enough to know l will be okay. I love all of them dearly in thier difference and uniquiness, l,m so blessed to have such wonderful, caring children and yes you also Naomi! xxx
