Airports and my arrival

My journey over to Peru was fantastic to be honest.....the only hitch l had was at Manchester airport which was my fault because my suitcase was too heavy, chose not too pay the extra, so had too dump some stuff. Didnt matter it wasnt anything of great value, just worried in case customs may have grabbed me for looking harassed and probably suspicious, had to end up putting stuff in a bin. After that initial annoyance everything went well. The flight over to Paris was on time and the service was lovely, at the airport all the people including myself, who were getting the next flight to Venezuela were directed to the next terminal. I havent been through that experience before with connecting flights especially three of them, so l was a little bothered about it.....will l find the terminal? will l miss my next plane? where's my luggage? all the possible "what ifs" fortunatley l didnt give them too much attention. Again the flight to Venezuela was brill! It was a Jumbo effort, with an upstairs. I did wonder how something that size would take off and land. It was actually the best flight out of all of them, hardly noticed the landing. Some of the south american men l saw on the plane where breathtakingly handsome.....couldnt take my eyes of them! Last flight was an american airline.... made friends with some french people at Paris so chatted to them during this flight...all in all the food, service etc...was great. A highlight of this flight was looking out the window to see the Amazon river below, it twists and turns and spirals like a huge serpent. I couldnt believe how wide it is in certain parts. My arrival in Peru, thankfully went smoothly, found my luggage okay as l hadnt seen it since Manchester. Mike grabbed my attention as soon as l came through customs...Wow here at last! Went for a drink and snacks after the luggage had been dropped off. The hotel where we are staying is an old colonial type building.....full of character, and roughly about five pound for a double bedded room. Of sightseeing tomorrow am really tired after such a long journey....my arrival here was on the 22nd July 2007

Dear Mags of the Jungle,
Good to hear things have started out well.I`m really envious.Take in all the new smells as they`re supposed to last longest in the memory bank.Don`t ignore all the sights and sounds though.I`ve got a picture of you in my mind with a bowler hat perched on all that hair.
Bye for now Andre

Hi Margaret,
I think you're stupendously brave doing all that long distance travelling & stuff all by lonesome. I guess from the lack of recent posts that you can't plug a terminal into the rainforset yet? Lol! Hope you are well and haven't been bitten by anything nasty - including those handsome guys on the plane (Or maybe not eh?)Britain is p*ss wet through (as usual) Went to Ynys Mon on Saturday to photograph some of the burial cairns & stones - only sunny day in last three months! Lee has just sold the first two of his prints, which is a cool re-start to his photography - we'll have a get together when you get back and show you some of our pics when you show us some of yours!!!
Take care, keep well - thinking of you hon

Hello Margaret, BFELTC
It was great to hear from you.I hope you are safe in Peru and avoided that horrific earthquake, which took so many lives and injured so many poor people. Our priest offered up prayers for all whodied and their relatives who mourn them and also all those who were injured. I am reading your journal and praying that God will keep you safe. Theresa sends her love and good wishes.
