My Scholarship entry - Surviving the game in a harsh land

India | Sunday, November 9, 2014 | 5 photos

Two years ago I was about to start my B.S. in Law, but sitting on the roof of my house one day, I turned my head up and saw the Milky Way crossing the sky. The only feeling I got was to capture that moment. The law books were replaced by manuals of physics and astronomy, and I bought my first camera. That is how my way in photography has been started.

My trip to India showed me that photography could be much wider than shooting beautiful landscapes. Walking on the streets of the country, I became more passionate in showing people’s lives. I like the saying of the photographer Phil Borges who calls himself 'a lawyer of people in the developing world'. To me, photography is the way to inspire. Inspire people to leave comfort zones, broden their horizonts, and learn about different cultures.

The expedition to the Amazon river is a chance to discover unique rainforest ecosystem and life of the communities, and show it to everyone who cannot make the same trip. Without formal education, I gained my knowledge from books but came to the moment when I need support in my future development. One day I would like to wake up and realize that my work makes people more curious about life.
