Nikhil's story is full of drama. After the loss of his parents, at the age of 9 he found himself on the street without a roof over his head. The only chance to survive was to become a beggar. Many years he knocked about the country, got leprosy, and returned to Himachal Pradesh in some time. 'I would like to change my life but now who will employ a cripple?'

Amin, 46, left his home in neighboring Nepal where the chances to find a job came to naught and tried his luck in India. Following the same route every day, he carries heavy bags full of sugar from the warehouse to the shops. Almost all of his salary Amin sends to his family – they are waiting for his return at home.

Harsh as everyday life seems to be, religious holidays give a chance to distract from difficulties and challenges that life brings. Although people from different parts of the world have different mentalities, traditions, opportunities, and income, they care about the same needs: love, health, joy… During Diwali, the festival of lights, music is heard in the mountains until the sun goes down.
