Day 6

AUSTRALIA | Thursday, 27 November 2008 | Views [615] | Comments [5]

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday we didnt do much at all. We lazed on the beach until about 4 and then headed back into Patong for some people watching. We also saw the new James Bond movie. The cinemas are really good over here. You can pay extra to sit on Gold Class chairs but still cheap (around 7 dollars). It is also funny seeing all of the thai advertising.

Today we have been trying to speak to our travel agent for our flights to Bangkok. It looks as though if things dont get fixed soon we will ahve to wait here until it all blows over. Thai airways pay for the extra nights of accomodation. Hopefully we still get to go into Cambodia because that is what we were looking forward to the most.

Later on this arvo we are going on an elephant trek.

Parentals - If you get this message before the close of business today, can you follow up with the travel agents and make sure they are on the ball. We have e-mailed them but have not received a response yet (although I only sent the e-mail 1 hour ago).

Thanks everyone, we will keep you posted on how we are going.

If worst comes to worst, we may cancel our Thai flights, get the refund, and go to Kuala Lumpar :-)

hi, kris and sam. keep enjoying your holiday, but keep safe. don,t go to any dodgy places or with dodgy people.will you really have your accomodation paid for by Thai airlines and is Kaula Lumpah safe at the moment. It may be better to keep away from Bangkok altogether if you can change your flights to another airport. Anyway keep safe and keep us updated. luv mum and dad.

Hi Guys,
Just spoke with Sarah, 9:20AM Aus time. Her info is that bangkok will probably not open until tomorrow, she researching and trying to come up with solutions, and that you should hound Thai Airways. I realise that the situation mucks up your plans, the most important thing is to stay safe, take a deep breath and relax, and continue to enjoy your time together.
Love the other mum and dad

9:50AM Aus time - not much can currently be done by your agent in Brisbane. You will need to personally go to Thai Airways either at their Phuket office or at Airport flight centre. Good luck, maybe Emma should come across and help Sami with some chop suey moves to get some action from them. Now sod off and leave alone on my sacred of sacred days off from work.
