In Haiti voodoo is widely practiced. Noticing I was carrying a camera, this lady came over and informed me that there is a strong voodoo belief-especially among older Haitians-that when someone takes your photo it steals your soul. I felt extremely privledged and it took me by surprise, when she offered to have her portrait taken.
