I started the most wonderful journey when I decided to move to Daytona Beach, FL to enroll in a photography program in 2011. Since then I do not know my right hand without a camera and my left hand without a lens.
I want to be a photojournalist for National Geographic. It is my life’s goal. I look to develop stories and create images in an artistic way with new perspectives. I feel the urgency to experience all the possible ways people live in different countries, and be one of them for a while to document their stories through images.
I am very hopeful for opportunities like this one to gain experience to become a professional photographer. I am eager to learn and a hard-worker. Having a chance at this scholarship will give me the edge I need to raise to the next level. I will learn from every person involved in this assignment, especially from Jason Edwards. I will be watching his every move to learn from him as much as possible.
The bottom of line is that I consider myself a citizen of the world and a storyteller. I want to document life around the planet with my camera for a living. I do not see any other possible future for me than through photography.
