Only after the Welcome Home Ceremony can families receive their soldiers. It was a very emotional moment; shouts and happy cries filled the air as they all ran to hug and kiss their soldiers who were away from home for a year serving their country. They are back home at last.

Laura Jimenez, Jesus's wife, cried with joy as she holds her one-year-old son, Leonardo. She was waiting a year for this moment when her husband would return home safely from Afghanistan. She is surrounded by other families welcoming their soldiers home with banners and open arms.

Laura and Jesus found each other in the crowd and hugged tightly for several minutes. That was the first of many nights that Jesus will sleep at home with his family again. Life of a military family is not easy; they must face emotional challenges day by day, especially when the soldier is in the war front, but this is one of their happiest days.
