    The Final Destination - The journeys end…. Much of the produce is sold locally, at the foot of the sea, through local fish markets. This image captures the sum total for this trawler for a hard and long mornings work. Hard working men, driven by the prospect of a hard earned dollar, the work doesn’t stop at the catch. These fish are process and transferred straight to the fish market. by: learning2c Views[331] The equipment - a mass of shapes and reels on such a small vessel. The knowledge of use required to get the job done. by: learning2c Views[370] Set in the beautiful Newcastle region of NSW, is the marina and fish markets. Trawlers re-enter the harbour and are docked at the fish market location, ensuring a steady stream of fresh produce. There is much competition, with both large and small vessels vying for a piece of the action. Rarely is the dock empty. by: learning2c Views[724] A fishing community. – Monument to reflect. This community has a long and strong bond with the commercial fishing industry and the Harbour. One of the main tourist attractions is the Harbour walkway, lined with references to the past and present success of the fishing industry in the region. This monument caught my eye, simplistically reinforcing to visitors the strength of the industry locally.
