My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

The places where I saw the greatest poverty were the ones where I saw the greatest generosity, happiness and purity in people. I studied Journalism and Anthropology because I wanted to travel, to write about the world, its people and their stories. I discovered photography along the way and I have dreamt with writing for National Geographic about nature and cultures. I’m adventurous; I love traveling, hiking, camping and getting lost in nature. I am very enthusiastic, energetic and I love challenges.
Since I got my first camera two years ago, I have strived to capture the moments, the stories that would go unnoticed but that would grab people to their heart. More than capturing what my eyes see, photography has been has been a way of expressing what my heart feels.
I have learned photography through trial and error. From the scholarship, I’m hoping to improve my photographic skills and to learn some theories and techniques about composition, exposure, settings and editing. I know I have a lot to learn and I’m excited about where this invaluable learning experience can take me.
