Chong Kneas

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

This is the main street of Chong Kneas village at the edge of the Tonle Sap Lake, thirty minutes from Siem Reap. During the rainy season, Chong Kneas is a floating village, full of life and tourists navigating through in barks. The water reaches a few meters, hence the houses built high above the ground. For a community that mostly depends on fishing, it is almost as if life stops during the dry season.
