Kauai is home to some of the most jaw-dropping volcanically-created mountains in the world. The rolling curves and steep hills stop only metres before the ocean.

In downtown Hanalei, some of the greatest small-surf beaches in the world can be found. Young kids and adults alike can be seen being taught be local Hawaiians to ride the gentle waves. An eager student left these shoes behind.

The clouds parted for only a moment at a point along the journey between Hanalei and Princeville. Kauai is famous for its short bursts of rain, keeping it one of the greenest and most lush places on earth. I watched this scene evolve for quite some time, I couldn't look away.
