Headed over to the Vatican today. Sadly old Ratsinger wasnt in, so we couldnt say hi.
St Peter's Bassilica and the Piazza are pretty impressive, and the bassilica itself is like a palace inside...oath of poverty? must not apply within vatican walls.
We climbed (they charge 2 euros to use the lift) to the top of the Cupola, all 700 odd steps. most cardio ive done in 46 days. the view was pretty amazing from the top. (also realised that rome has no tall building or any read cbd, and no one ever seems to be working...strange).
Then we went to the vatican museum and the sistine chapel. museum was average, but the chapel was seriously impressive.
Went on the spanish steps pub crawl tonight. it was supposed to he ladies night, but there was only 1 girl on the crawl...still wasnt a bad night out.
