Day 33

SPAIN | Wednesday, 6 January 2010 | Views [221]

Today we decided to walk around Barca and see a few sights, and hopefully make our way down the beach.

We got chips and mayonaise for luch, was pretty good. Chips are called Patatas, so very similar to greek. Picking up a little spanish as well, i can order most meals, and decifer most signs with a bit of thought. I also tried one of those fried donut thingies dipped in chocolate, nice but pretty much 100% fat.

We made it to the beach, grabbed a few beers from a street vendor. Estrella Damm, they are like 5.5% but are really nice. We found a spot on the beach, drank our beers and watched the sunset. Barca would be the greatest in the summer. It started to get pretty cold not. I was a bit over enthusiastic when getting dressed in the morning, the sun was out and i figured id be fine in just jeans, tshirt and jumper, no thermals, no jacket...i was very wrong. the walk back was freezing. we eneded up getting a cab, but it was so cheap.

Back at the hostel, the girl from adelaide, Millie, saw once again by freak chance another one of her friends, a guy called Bill, in our year from Pultney...freaky stuff.

All 4 of us went back to the tappas bar with the beer taps. I had the house special, pan fried pork stips in a spicy tomato sauce with capsicum and onions, all ontop of some chips...sensational.

Back to the hostel. The bar there is pretty good, 3euro litres of beer. good value.

We didint go out again tonight, just had 2 beers and went to bed. Absolutley loving Barcelona.
