VOLCaNOES SURROUNDING a MASSIVE FLAT AND BEAUTIFUL LAKE (Lake Atitlan), RAINS, MIST CLOUDS, STUNNING LOCATIONS AND VIEWS, MISTY AND MORE MIST. lOVELY FRIENDLY PEOPLE. We visited a few small villages that are established on the lake (Santa Cararina) which as we arrived school finished and all these gorgeous kids came running out, we are got convinced to by cards and bits and pieces from this gorgeous little girl who sang for us and her mum tied traditional dress around my head, and beautiful paintings. Hopping on a boat we visited San Pedro bit of a hippy town with steep cobbled paths winding around the hillside. Lunch was at an awesome hostel/hotel built into the cliffside and only accessible by boat.
13/7 - So after drinking a lovely dragonfly fruit drink, i have been to the toilet approx 20 times. However, I still managed to make it to Reserva Natural Atitlan to see the spider monkeys, go for a hike which crossed over many rivers and waterfalls on hanging bridges and go to the butterfly garden (to see one butterfly). THe animals werent to keen to come out of the forest cause it was pouring with rain. To get back to the hotel we hopped into a couple of tuk tuks, stopped to see the volcano popping out for the first time and swerving between the traffic made it safely home. Phew. But we are all dry now, and about to get wet again as we head out for dinner. I have never seen so much rain...but it is rainy season
