After having a night out in the Cancun hotel zone (mini Las Vegas, with many pubs offering all you can drink nights for $15, man walking round with a large yellow snake like Brittany Spears but awesome cocktails and shooters) we woke early to take the local bus to Chichen itza.
Battling through the hordes of tourists and locals trying to sell their wares for 'nearly free' prices we found the awesome temples and stone buildings. The Castle, ball court, observatory, warriors temple all have stories representing circle of life. The snake with feathers represent changing life - god and human combined. The tour went for two hours it was ridiculously humid and my tummy is going to definately have some trouble this trip, and we have all be guaranteed to get diarohea. But what can you do...
In Merida now, cool coloured homes and buildings, awesome facades, great park in the middle of the city but the best was the Yuctun dancers whom danced traditional style with a band in the street. ITs like tap dancing but colourful and in couples. Very clever
