In 2011 I quit my job as a cook in a Florida restaurant and set out to roam the United States. On the road for four months I explored the U.S. I had only seen in pictures, the more remote and wild places. I understand the power of a photo, the power to ignite an idea in another person.I documented the trip for friends and family, but in reality, I was rekindling my love of photography that once thrived while in school, ten years earlier, were I spent three semesters learning how to shoot and develop black and white film. It consumed me once again. Now, two years later with some essential upgrades in knowledge and equipment my lifestyle and photographic vision is merging in a way I cannot deny. For solitude, freedom, and adventure, I feel drawn to certain places. Hiking, rock climbing, and surfing not only enhance my passion for these environments but they also enhance my ability to photographically explore and document. My vision is to tell the stories of these places and of the people who live in and love the natural lands. As we travel I look forward to learning how Jason interacts with locals, contacts, and photo subjects, maximizes time, and handles lifestyle aspects involved.
