Mint Pond: Days at the hut were spent exploring the surrounding rock strewn slopes out back where glaciers and alpine ponds could be found just over a ridge. This mineral filled pond made the perfect setting for a reading/nap session.

Mint Hut: Surrounded by snowy peaks and jagged slopes the Mint Hut sits on a mossy field in the distance. Built in 1971 and maintained by the Mountaineering Club of Alaska the hut allows members a base camp for a multitude of outdoor activities or visitors can simply relax and enjoy the solitude of the surroundings.

Ptarmigan Again: This social Ptarmigan unfazed by the sight of humans was sporting its seasonal camouflage that matched perfect with the terrain. This, along with its family of 4 others would feed in the mornings behind the Mint Hut giving us a pleasant natural alarm.
