SENSE OF SMELL. People living in Payatas—even those at a very young age—are exposed to the nasty smell of their surrounding. They have to endure and get used to the stench, for collecting garbage is their primary livelihood. An innocent boy covers his nose as he stares at the amount of waste outside their home.

SENSE OF SIGHT. Before finally disposing of the trash in the dump site, garbage
trucks momentarily halt in front of some houses along the road. This gives the
residents a chance to jump onto the truck and randomly collect any rubbish. A young
boy looks at the open tailgate and possibly asks himself,

SENSE OF TOUCH. A young boy finds a toy car in a sack of segregrated trash. Instead
of purely enjoying their childhood, the kids are already taught how to find
reusable items from mounds of filthy garbage. They have to learn to rummage using
their hands in order to get more money for the family.
