My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Having just returned home from seven months exploring Europe, I fully appreciate the joys of travel and believe the perfect way to both prolong and extend that happiness to friends and family is through photography.
During my travels in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Western and Eastern Europe through to Istanbul, I constantly had my camera in hand, snapping pictures on a regular basis. While I’m still very much an amateur, and only recently learnt to utilise important camera settings, I found the quickest way to learn was to be in a new place, with plenty of eye-catching scenes nearby.
Going to Oman would not only allow me to dramatically improve my photography skills under the tutelage of an expert, but it would also give me the opportunity to experience a new culture in a part of the world I’ve never visited. I am always eager to learn and improve, whether through my university studies, at work or just by reading widely.
One of the highlights of my recent travels was visiting the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition in London. That incredible gallery inspired me to be more active in my photography, in the hope of one day being able to share my work to encourage others.
