In documentary photography I have found a life affirming quality that is able to inspire a childish sense of adventure.It is a creative outlet which engages me with the world and enhances my appreciation for life.I have devoted myself to the medium; finetuning my technical aptitude and confidence while allowing time for my own opinions to develop organically.I often compare my love of photography with cinema.While great films often make me forget where I am ,I find that photography has the power to reaffirm my existence It makes me feel alive and more receptive to life.I find beauty in the quiet, reflective photography of artists like Glendyn Ivin.At this stage in my life I am looking for opportunities to dedicate myself passionately to photography.Photography will follow me wherever I go but I would love for it to be at the forefront of my priorities.Lately I have started to feel isolated in my ambitions. I have a longing to make contact with mentors and attempt to bridge the gap into dedicated professional practice. What I see as the greatest attraction of the Scholarship is the rare opportunity to work intimately with a professional mentor; to learn, collaborate and be inspired.
