So we decided to splurge, and went to Hong Kong Disneyland to fulfill Kaitie's lifelong dream of meeting Mickey Mouse! Our day started off harmless enough, until we were on the Disney subway and were attacked by a group of Asian woman who spoke no english and had never seen a white person before! We were then thrown into taking a million pictures with them, as we held back our tears from laughing hysterically! We were even forced by them to throw up our peace signs for the pictures. A very interesting start! Throughout the day, we rode Space Mountain countless times, and after many experiments, found the best way to ride it and take the best picture at the end was to ride with eyes closed, sunglasses on, peace signs in the air! Our picture is phenominal! It seems that as a serious minority, we tended to grab the attention of the characters. In particular, we went to a Lilo and Stitch show, which resulted in Caroline being picked from the crowd of at least 50, and have Stitch fall madly in love with her! Very entertaining to say the least! For all of our university friends, you will love this! There was an asian High School Musical Cast signing on a float. We embarrasingly chased after it with was to much enthusiasm. By the end of the day, we went to watch them (for the third time, yes sad we know) and were called up in front of a huge crowd to learn the dance with them. So, everyone, watch for us on Youtube, we are definately the new dancing sensation in Asia! The fireworks at the end of the night made up for the pathetic attempt the night before, so we were extremely excited about that! All in all, we love Hong Kong, we love Disney, so it was a day we will never forget!
PS - Kaitie never did get to meet Mickey...as Minnie apparently was threatened by our beauty and they were whisked away every time we got in line to get our picture taken! Along with the disney princesses! Jealous floozies! Along with the fact we totally stole thier thunder by being photographed as much or more than they were!...they really get surprised by white people? They think you can't see them staring? Oh, we see!
