While reading various articles about the housing protests in Israel (centered in Tel Aviv) I learned that many Israelis have many colorful, derogatory terms for the people who live in Tel Aviv (or as they not-so-nicely say, "the state of Tel Aviv."
Many of the younger residents of Tel Aviv are what we would refer to as "hipsters" or "yuppies."
You want to know what they're called in Israel? (And it is NOT a nice thing to be called over there...

"Sushi Eaters." Yes, that is the derogatory term for the good people that live in Tel Aviv.
I feel a little weird going out to sushi tonight...
