So this is my first entry and I havent even left the country yet.I have accepted a contract to work in SOuth Korea for a year teaching English to 7-14 year olds. I have no idea what I am doing but I am told that is perfectly normal and I will be trained out there.
I never realised how much organisation this would take. The last few days I have been sorting bank accounts, getting travel insurance (which by the way is a bit of a sting!) changing currency etc. Amongst other things I have been trying to get my VISA sorted which is proving to be a bit of a problem. THe company that I am travelling with (flying-cows) do everything a bit last minute so I accepted my contract at the end of November, sent off my visa application to South Korea... but only got my VISA number on CHristmas eve. Consequently I could not send off my forms until December 27th which means I would not receive my VISA or Passport back until the predicted date of the 7th of Jan. THis is a little nailbiting as I have been told I have provisionally been booked on a flight for 9pm on Jan 8th 2008. EEEEEPP! That pushed aside I actually going half way around the world which is a big thing when you've never been out of europe (maybe discounting Tunisia?). I am starting to realise I will miss alot of people and that makes my heart sink a little but then I think about the new people I will meet and the new experiences I will have. Although they will never replace what I have here at home I will be safe in the knowledge that I tried even if I realise its not for me. For me its now or never and I have chosen the now and decided not to let this opportunity pass me by and always wonder what if. So wish me luck guys and dont forget to let me know how you're doing xxxxxxxx
