DAY 65. New Years Eve Prepping

NEW ZEALAND | Friday, 30 December 2016 | Views [211]

We had a quick breakfast before heading off to do some shopping. We made our way into the city center area where a lot of people were out and about. We heard on the radio that 14,000 festival goers went to Rhythm and Vines the night before. We also found out that the artist we were most looking forward to seeing performed already so we were bumming pretty hard. We went into many clothing stores and boutiques looking for a few items and accessories. We bought a few things and messed around at a couple big dollar stores that just had a lot of funky, cheap stuff.

We went to the liquor store then to Pak N Save, Countdown twice, and to an interesting bulk food store where we didn't buy anything. We came back to the campground and Cassela and I sewed our dresses and then we all organized our stuff and food for the next day. We hung out on the grass near our camp while we did our nails and drank the 14% vodka we found, so good it didn't need a chaser. The German girls we met came and chilled with us and we talked about the festival. After a bit, we went inside and made a lamb dinner. We all hit the hay.
