DAY 64. Rotorua Just Won't Let Us Go

NEW ZEALAND | Thursday, 29 December 2016 | Views [221]

We slept in a bit and when we got up, everyone else had left the house. After we cleaned up a bit, I showered and organized some of my stuff. The girls passed out while I messed around with my GoPro and took care of some things. Once they woke up, we packed into the car and headed out of the Lake Rototiti area after stopping at Pita Pit. We decided just to head towards Gisborne a few days early since that's where we had tickets for the Rhythm and Vines festival for New Years. We were about 75km or one hour out when we stopped for snacks and Michealla realized she left her credit card back at Pita Pit. We drove all the way back, back to the same area near Rotorua that we drove so many times before, as if we weren't supposed to get away from it quite yet.

I took over the drivers seat while Cassela tried to sleep in the back. Michealla and I chatted the whole way to Gisborne, which was about a four hour drive. Once we rolled into town, we found a holiday park and booked it for two nights. It was a big showgrounds/fair type campground. It was raining so we took cover under a big tree and put up our tents. We made dinner and met a few German girls while we ate. After, we went off to McDonalds for wifi then headed back to the camp and went to bed.
