Agnes Water / The Town of 1770

Okay, I've finally gotten around to updating the galleries with all the pictures from my trip between Brisbane (including new Brisbane ones) and Cairns. There's about eight new galleries! So now you can at least get an idea about what I'm getting excited about.

So after saying farewell to Bundaberg, I headed on up to Agnes Water for a night and a day. It's a real shame I didn't have more time to spend there, as it's a lovely chilled out place with a great hostel (Cool Bananas). It's a small, friendly, laid-back kinda place and the last surf-able sea when you're heading North. I went on a free 'orientation tour' around the town and, of course, hired a surf board. Given that I haven't done that in a while and was fairly rubbish to start with, I didn't actually do too badly. And I had so much fun. One thing I really miss about Byron was the opportunities to surf, even if there were great white sharks in the bay.

If I hadn't been on a fairly tight schedule (for the first time since I got to Oz...), I definately would have stayed around a little longer. There were very cheap 'scenic flights', which also included a few seconds of weightlessness that sounded like fun. Cool Bananas is probably one of the best hostels I've stayed in over here, and that's saying a lot. Still, I reckon I've got enough excuses to go back at some point when I have a little more time. As it was, I had to get moving on up to Airlie Beach and some more very exciting adventures.

Incidently, one of the pictures in the gallery is of a small wooden shack with no plumbing, just an outside hole-ina-shed style toilet. Apparently this has just sold for $2 million on account of the stunning location. The views were nice but seriously, two million dollars..?

Is it $2 million for a small shack and a billion acres..? :p

If there was a billion acres as well, it was very well hidden. There was a bit of a garden though, so I guess you could pull down the shack and build a really good house there and sell it for a lot more than $2 million. Maybe.
